The testicle is the most hardworking organ of the male body

The Medical Director of the University of Education, Winneba(UEW), Dr John Kanyiri Yambah has argued that the testicle is the hardworking organ of the human body.

“The testes are an integral part of the male reproductive system, and not equal to the male reproductive system and that is also different from the prostate. Without the testes, we are all females. It performs two functions: sperm production and produces sperm every three days. It is the hardest-working organ of  the body, and I think we should clap for it”, he disclosed

He, however, noted that despite its enormous functions in the body of males, little attention is given to its well-being, underscoring the need for men to take issues of testicular health seriously.

Speaking at a seminar organised by the Department of Strategic Communication of the School of Communication and Media Studies(SCMS) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), the Medical Expert cautioned against the wearing of tight clothes, especially boxer shorts that prevent proper circulation of air around the scrotum. He warned that the testicle is a healthy sperm producing centre, indicating that any activity around it could cause its defectiveness. “The testis is the hardworking organ in the human body. It works continuously because it produces sperm every 3 days for men. It is therefore important to take proper care of it in accordance with a campaign advocating for men’s health”, he stressed.

The Testicular Health Awareness Seminar was aimed at creating awareness about the health status of the testicles, an area that has received less attention over a period. The event, which forms part of the coursework of Masters Students on Social Campaign Planning and Management, attracted students and faculty members of the SCMS.
