MPs are not clay to be moulded – Ekua Amoakoh jabs Bawumia’s opponents

Dr. Ekua Amoakoh, an aide to New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has dismissed criticism surrounding the growing wave of MP endorsements for her boss, particularly in the Eastern Region.

Speaking on Channel One’s Newsroom on Friday, September 26, Dr. Amoakoh rejected claims that lawmakers had been manipulated to throw their support behind Dr. Bawumia.

“I hate it when we create the impression that people are manipulatable or they are like clay in the hands of people to be moulded.

“I don’t think the MPs are children or they can be manipulated to do A or B.

“For all of them to boldly come forward and be speaking to their constituents on behalf of His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, I don’t think it’s a small thing,” she argued.

She further suggested that the dismissive tone from rival camps was evidence of the impact of the endorsements.

“I also see how our opponents will downplay this kind of event. It only means that it really hit them at the core of their campaigns,” she added.

Dr. Amoakoh insisted that the show of support signals genuine confidence in Bawumia’s leadership and urged critics to respect the independent decisions of MPs.
