Petrol, diesel, and LPG costs to increase in October

Consumers should brace for higher fuel costs in the first pricing window of October 2025, as petrol, diesel, and LPG prices are all projected to rise.
According to COMAC’s pricing outlook, the adjustment is being driven by a rebound in crude oil prices on the international market and the continued depreciation of the cedi.
Brent crude, currently at $68.45 per barrel, is forecast to climb back to $70 amid geopolitical tensions and supply concerns.
At the pumps, petrol prices are expected to increase between 0.35% and 2.47%, while diesel could rise by 1.36% to 3.41%. LPG is projected to see the steepest hike, with an increase of 2.01% to 4.01%.
The report also highlights that international product prices for petrol, diesel, and LPG have already recorded gains of 0.89%, 2.49%, and 3.37% respectively.
Meanwhile, the cedi’s continued fall, dropping from GHS 12.07 to GHS 12.40 per dollar in September, has further compounded the pressure.
IMANI Africa and other analysts have stressed that such recurrent hikes reflect the vulnerability of Ghana’s import-dependent economy to global oil price movements and currency weakness.
