Ablakwa officially presents diplomatic passports to five ‘extraordinary patriots’

Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has fulfilled his promise by presenting diplomatic passports to five distinguished citizens he described as “extraordinary patriots.”

Sharing the news on his social media, Ablakwa wrote;

“A profound honour to present Ghana’s cherished diplomatic passports to our five extraordinary patriots as promised.

“Well-deserved congratulations to Wodemaya, Lady Dentaa Amoateng, Rocky Dawuni, Anita Erskine and Ibrahim Mahama.

“Ghana is exceptionally proud of you all. Keep the Black Star shining! For God and Country 🇬🇭 🙏🏾.”

The recipients come from diverse fields of work but share a common thread in their contributions to Ghana’s global image.

Wodemaya, born Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, is one of Africa’s most influential YouTubers, known for telling positive African stories to an international audience.

Lady Dentaa Amoateng is a UK-based Ghanaian entrepreneur and founder of the Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards, which have celebrated excellence and strengthened ties between Ghana and the diaspora.

Rocky Dawuni, the celebrated reggae star and Grammy-nominated musician, has used his music and activism to highlight African culture and social issues on the global stage.

Anita Erskine is an award-winning broadcaster and communications professional who has represented Ghana internationally through media and advocacy for women and youth.

Ibrahim Mahama is a Ghanaian contemporary artist known for his large-scale installations, sculptures and architectural interventions that explore global trade, commodification, labor, economic inequality, migration, and the socio-political legacies of colonialism in Africa.
