Every fair-minded person knows NPP is a dead political party- Suhuyini

Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini, is of the view that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a dead political party.

He argues that there is a need for the party to be revived.

Alhassan Suhuyini was speaking on Accra-based TV3 on Saturday, October 4, 2024, when he made this known.

“As for the NPP, currently, any fair-minded observer will tell you the party is dead. They need to resuscitate the party, they need to reorganise the party, which they are not doing because they say they want to roof a building that doesn’t have a solid foundation, and so they are just wasting roofing sheets,” he said.

To him, the party is going through a telling moment, and the earlier they recognize the challenges and deal with them, the better.

He cited the recent confusion between the party’s General Secretary and the Bono Regional Chairman of the party as an example of how low the NPP has sunk in recent times.

What’s even worrying to him is the absence of the party’s chairman in the scheme of affairs and the internal wrangling that has characterized the party in recent times.

“Who am I to advise them? I am only concerned because I am a consummate democrat, and I will want to have an opposition that can keep my government on its toes. Otherwise, I should be singing praises to God that they are engaged in an exercise that will not resuscitate their party, that will not make it stronger. Any fair-minded person, any NPP person will admit that their party is dead, is in crisis. If you have the General Secretary referring the Regional Chairmen to the disciplinary committee,” he stated.
