To die is gain — Kow Essuman reflects on life and faith

Kow Abaka Essuman believes in living fully and with gratitude, even while carrying the responsibilities of public life.
Appearing on Starr Chat with Bola Ray as monitored by MyNewsGh, the NPP lawyer shared a more personal side of himself, reflecting on the fleeting nature of life and the importance of inner peace.
“Life is short,” he said. “Life is for the living, so you have to enjoy every moment you can. It’s a present, you have to live in the present.”
When asked whether he feared death, he responded calmly, “To die is gain. We’re all living towards death; that’s the reality of life. But I don’t think that’s all there is. There’s more to existence than that.”
Essuman said his Christian faith gives him perspective on life and loss. “You just hope that when the Lord calls you, it’s in His time — not something sudden,” he said.
His reflections, though philosophical, revealed a balance between spirituality and pragmatism, a rare blend for a politician.
“We all need to find joy and meaning, no matter where we are in life,” he concluded.
