Kofi Buah showing political will in galamsey battle – Paa Kwesi Schandorf

Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, has been commended for his impartial approach in Ghana’s ongoing fight against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
Media personality Paa Kwesi Schandorf, speaking during an interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime, said the minister’s refusal to interfere in investigations involving members of his own party demonstrates strong political will and integrity.
According to Schandorf, Armah Kofi Buah’s conduct shows his readiness to confront the galamsey menace without bias or political influence.
“If the minister belongs to a political party, and two leading members of the party are being interrogated, clearly, then he’s not in to shield anybody.
“And that is enough testament of his willingness, politically, to deal with the issue,” he emphasized in an interview on Joy Prime as monitored by MyNewsGh.
Schandorf revealed that the investigations extend beyond the two leading figures, adding that other prominent members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have also become subjects of interest in the ongoing crackdown.
“Indeed, of course, it is not every detail that I can disclose.
“But there are active and, if you like, prominent party people who have become subjects of interest in the fight against illegal mining,” he added.
