Bawumia begins nationwide campaign tour today

Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will today, October 15, 2025, begin his nationwide campaign.
The 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party is expected to tour the 276 constituencies in the country to sell his message of the need to maintain him as flagbearer for the 2028 elections.
The tour, which promises to be a grassroots-focused engagement, is designed for Dr. Bawumia to interact directly with polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, current and former constituency executives, former MPs, former MMDCEs, as well as patrons and the council of elders.
The initiative, according to a release from his campaign team, “underscores his commitment to listening, building consensus, and strengthening the Party’s foundation from the ground up.”
A statement announcing the campaign tour order that communicators for the former Vice President must “immediately cease and desist from any form of direct or indirect insults, derogatory remarks, and personal attacks against any other aspirant, their families, or their supporters.”
Indicating that all communications must be “grounded in verifiable facts, a comparative analysis of ideas, and the substantive track records of all involved.”
It emphasized the need for unity in the political party.
