I want young Muslim girls to believe they can do it too — Latifa Fuseini

The 2025 Best Graduating Student of the Ghana School of Law, Latifa Teiya Fuseini, has highlighted her motivation to become one of the few Muslim Damba women to pursue a career in law.
“I’ve always been passionate about contributing meaningfully to society,” she said in an interview TV3 monitored by MyNewsGh.
“But I also noticed that I didn’t know many Muslim Damba lawyers, especially women. That inspired me to change that.”
Her achievement has already begun to influence others. “I’ve received so many messages from young Muslim girls telling me I’m their role model. I just hope they believe that they can achieve this too,” she shared.
Determined to turn her personal success into collective empowerment, Latifa announced plans to create a mentorship group to guide aspiring female law students.
“A lot of girls have reached out. I plan to mentor them, share materials, advice, and motivation,” she explained.
Her calm confidence and clarity of purpose suggest a young leader determined to redefine what is possible for women from underrepresented backgrounds.
“It’s a lot of pressure,” she admitted with a smile, “but it’s also a blessing.”
As she looks to the future, Latifa hopes her story encourages more northern and Muslim girls to aim high.
“This isn’t something that’s only for men or others. We can do it too,” she said, a statement that captures the quiet revolution she represents.
