Counsellor Adofoli urges men to honour their wives amid Daddy Lumba marriage saga

The recent controversy surrounding highlife legend Daddy Lumba’s marriage has sparked nationwide discussions on the dynamics of relationships, love, and respect in marriage. Ghanaian counsellor Frank Adem Adofoli has weighed in, offering a timely reminder of the importance of discipline, loyalty, and honour within unions.
According to Adofoli, modern society often holds distorted views of marriage, wrongly suggesting that women contribute little beyond managing household matters and are primarily motivated by financial gain.
These assumptions, he argues, overlook the emotional, familial, and career support women provide to their spouses.
“Marriage is about finding a life partner, supporting each other, and growing old together,” Adofoli explains in a post MyNewsGh posted.
“Children, family, and property are part of the journey, not the main goal.” He highlights that women value love, companionship, and respect, often prioritizing these over wealth.
Adofoli also stresses the dangers of neglecting a partner’s emotional needs. Many men, he notes, fail to appreciate the sacrifices their wives make, especially those who put their own careers on hold to support their husbands. Such neglect can lead to emotional pain, driving a once-loving spouse to bitterness or separation.
The counsellor calls for self-discipline among men, particularly when financial success and freedom create temptations.
“A man who lives without discipline dies without honour,” he warns, emphasizing that loyalty and respect are fundamental to sustaining love and family unity.
