Shatta Wale’s consistency and boldness keep him relevant

Entertainment analyst and PRO of King Promise, Tilly Akua Nipaa believes Shatta Wale’s ability to remain at the center of public attention is no accident, it’s strategy.
Speaking on Joy Prime with Asieduwaa Akumia monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Tilly noted that while many artists rely on structured promotion, Shatta Wale thrives on authenticity, controversy, and consistency.
“He has been himself from day one,” she said. “He hasn’t changed his personality just to please anyone.”
According to her, Shatta Wale’s fans have come to embrace his unfiltered nature. In an industry filled with polished façades, his refusal to conform has made him relatable.
“People love him because he’s bold enough to speak his mind,” she explained. “His followers know what they’ve signed up for, in his camp, the rule is simple; Shatta is always right.”
Tilly described the Shatta Movement as more than a fandom, a near-religious community bound by belief in their leader’s resilience.
“He has learned that all attention is good attention,” she said. “Whether good or bad, he uses it to his advantage.”
She also lauded his work ethic, pointing out that Shatta Wale has maintained consistency both in releasing music and staying in the news.
“He’s among the few who’ve mastered relevance,” she added. “Even when he isn’t dropping songs, he’s making headlines.”
Reflecting on the massive turnout at ShattaFest, she concluded that the event was more than a concert, it was proof that, despite controversies, Shatta Wale’s influence remains untouched.
“Every sector has a chosen one,” she said. “In Ghana’s music scene, that person is Shatta Wale.”
