Ghana’s Parliament reconvenes today

After several weeks away from Parliament, Ghana’s Parliament will reconvene today, October 21, 2025.
This was after the Speaker had to postpone the reconvening of Parliament over matters that were beyond him.
This will be the final sitting of Parliament for the year and will feature the delivery of the budget statement by the Finance Minister in mid-November.
During this sitting, the government is expected to repeal L.I. 2462, which currently empowers the president to authorize mining in forest reserves.
Apart from these, Parliament will be expected to swear in new members of Parliament for Akwatia and Tamale Central.
