Nii Lantey Vanderpuye hints at contesting for NDC chairmanship position

Former Member of Parliament for the Ododiodo Constituency, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has hinted at his intention to contest the Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, he has the intention but will only execute if the current chairman of the party decides not to contest for the position.

He made this known in an interview on Accra-based Channel 1 Television.

“If the current chairman, my very good brother Johnson Asiedu Nketia, is not contesting, I will contest,” he said.

Nii Lantey Vanderpuye’s comment comes on the back of reports suggesting that Asiedu Nketia is lacing his boots for the flagbearership race in the governing National Democratic Congress.

According to reports, Asiedu Nketia wants to lead the NDC in the 2028 elections after President John Dramani Mahama has left office.
