Asante Kotoko jet off to Morocco ahead of clash with Wydad

Ghana’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, have left Ghana for Casablanca.

Kotoko will face off with Wydad of Morocco in a must-win encounter after losing the first leg of the game by a lone goal.

Asante Kotoko will have to fire from all angles to ensure that they win in Morocco convincingly to keep them in the competition.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Luv FM before leaving the shores of Ghana, Communications Director Sarfo Duku was sure Kotoko would pull a surprise.

“The players are so confident. I think before the game, the Moroccans were overhyped. I didn’t see much difference between the two clubs,” Duku said.

“In fact, Kotoko even played better in the second half, but for that glorious chance we lost in the first half, the story would have been different.”

“They know the Moroccans are just being overhyped; they can play with them. We did it in Nigeria, and they believe they can still do it. The players haven’t lost hope at all,” he affirmed.
