Nigerian lady shocked to learn ‘anointing oil’ Is actually cooking oil

A Nigerian woman has gone viral after sharing a humorous video on X (formerly Twitter), in which she expressed shock upon discovering that a product she had always associated with church rituals was actually meant for cooking.

In the clip, she is seen holding three bottles of oil while attempting to process the information.

“So this is a cooking oil. This is a cooking oil. The Nigerian in me refuses to believe because to me this is anointing oil,” she said, laughing at her own confusion.

She explained that the oil was familiar to her because her mother stocks it in her shop back in Nigeria.

“Like my mom has this oil like in her supermarket and I found them in one of her stores,” she said. “And then I’ve been thinking about this oil expensive. What can we use this to do?”

To her surprise, a little research revealed that the oil wasn’t a spiritual item after all.

“So I got a nice search and it’s just cooking oil,” she added. “And for real they wrote it on it’s extra virgin only cooking oil. So it’s just cooking oil.”

Still struggling to accept the revelation, she reiterated with a laugh: “Hey, the Nigerian in me refuses to believe.”

Despite the initial disbelief, she jokingly concluded that she won’t let the bottles go to waste.

“Anyways, I will use all of them,” she declared.
