Swift fire service response prevents major disaster at Agya Herbal

A prompt response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) prevented a fire at Agya Herbal from escalating into a major disaster, successfully protecting nearby multi-story buildings and resulting in no casualties.
According to an official report from the GNFS, a distress call was received at 3:00 PM, alerting them to the fire outbreak. Firefighters from the Amasaman station were immediately dispatched and arrived at the scene just 15 minutes later at 3:15 PM.
Through their concerted efforts, the crew managed to bring the blaze under control by 4:09 PM and had it fully extinguished by 4:40 PM.
While some personal belongings inside the premises were partially burnt, the firefighters’ strategic operation successfully shielded adjacent storey buildings from the flames. The service confirmed that there were no injuries or loss of life recorded.
The cause of the afternoon fire is currently under investigation by the GNFS. The incident highlights the critical importance of emergency services and their role in mitigating property damage and ensuring public safety.
