Feed Ghana could create jobs, but nothing has been done – Richard Ahiagbah

Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party, has called for accelerated implementation of Ghana’s flagship programs, emphasizing that intentions alone are insufficient.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, as monitored by MyNewsGh, he stressed that wishes must translate into tangible results, noting that the president must “hit the road running” from the start of a term.
Highlighting the Feed Ghana program, Ahiagbah acknowledged its potential to create jobs and support the agricultural sector but argued that it has yet to materialize.
He said, “If properly implemented, Feed Ghana would create jobs for our young people, but it hasn’t been implemented.”
He also referenced the farmer service centers, which were designed to enhance market linkages and provide credit support, but he noted that progress has been minimal.
Ahiagbah asserted that the NDC inherited a recovering economy, pointing out that the nation’s growth rate stood at 5.7% when they assumed office, contrasting with the projected 4% growth under the current administration.
He emphasized that challenges in economic growth are due to slow implementation, not a dysfunctional economy, stating, “The economy is not in shambles. They inherited a growing economy which grew at 5.7% by the time they took office.”
