The last 24 hours have seen social media awash with negative testimonies from members of the Christ Embassy Youth Church (CEYC).
The testimonies from members of the Church range from sexual harassment by pastors to extortion and harassment.
Influencer Ama Burland, who was once a member of the Church, was one of the people who shared their testimony about the Church.
She explained that the church was the first place she came into contact with God since she was raised in a Muslim home.
She alleged that there were things that she saw in the church that encouraged her to leave, and one of them was a guy who received a miracle and stopped using his crutches, only to see him the next day using the crutches he had stopped using in church the day he received his miracle.
As a new convert, she said, without any form of training, she was made a cell leader and did not know what to do because she couldn’t have led the people she was asked to lead, because she was now finding her way.
She also mentioned that seed sowing led a number of people to let go of their properties just because they were told that they would receive double fold in blessings; something she could not fathom.

Some testimonies concerned the reverence given to their pastors in the church rather than to God.
Many who testified about the Church explained that the Church shows reverence to their pastor, who they believe has given them the opportunity.

This lady, who also spoke about her experience, said the head of the Church, after she opened up to him, started harassing her.
He says the pastor started s*xting her, and after she exposed the pastor’s texts, among others, to a friend, who in turn informed his wife, the leadership of the church decided to gaslight them by indicating that it was the time the church needed to support the pastor since he is human and can also fall short.
She said she has since left the church and has decided against going to any church because it does not provide the safety needed.
