He doesn’t own any of those properties – Dr. Mustapha Hamid’s lawyers reply OSP

Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid’s lawyers have denied claims linking him to assets allegedly traced by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) in its ongoing investigation.
In a statement dated November 6, 2025, and signed by Hanifa Yahaya Esq. of HAY & Partners at Law, the legal team described the OSP’s recent publication as “deliberately crafted to create public confusion” and insisted that their client “has absolutely no connection” to any of the listed assets.
“We state categorically and without qualification that Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid neither owns, partly owns, controls, nor has any form of interest, connection, or linkage whatsoever to any of the assets published by the OSP,” the lawyers said.
They accused the OSP of engaging in what they called “a regrettable pattern of trial by publicity,” adding that the office had failed to clearly identify the real owners of the assets.
“It is telling that the OSP, despite repeated public pronouncements and social media publications, has not once been able to clearly or directly assert that these assets belong to Dr. Abdul-Hamid,” the statement added.
The legal team further urged the OSP to “act with transparency” and avoid what they termed “media theatrics.”
They emphasized that their client “will not be the scapegoat of such theatrics” and is ready to respond both in court and in the court of public opinion.
The statement concluded, “We reiterate, in the clearest terms, that none of the assets or businesses published by the OSP, whether on social media or elsewhere, belong to, are owned by, or are in any way connected to Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid.”
