Mfantsipim school defends title, wins 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz

Mfantsipim School has once again cemented its legacy, successfully defending its title to win the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz.
In a thrilling finale at the University of Cape Coast, the Botwe Boys secured back-to-back victories and their fourth national championship, triumphing over fellow giants, St. Augustine’s College and Opoku Ware School.
The atmosphere in the NEC Auditorium was electric from the start, with cheers erupting after each correct answer.
The three schools displayed remarkable brilliance, keeping the audience captivated. Mfantsipim began strongly, leading the first round with 20 points, while Augusco and OWASS trailed closely with 17 points each.
A shift occurred in the speed round, where St. Augustine’s sharp teamwork propelled them to 27 points, ahead of Mfantsipim’s 24.
However, the defending champions reclaimed their momentum in the crucial “Problem of the Day” round. Demonstrating superior accuracy and composure, they scored 30 points, nudging past Augusco’s 29, while OWASS remained on 19.
Mfantsipim continued to build on this lead, widening the gap to a commanding 46 points by the fourth round, with Augusco at 42 and OWASS at 29.
The final round saw the entire hall holding its breath. The Botwe boys remained focused, answering decisively to finish with a dominant 56 points.
The crowd erupted at the final bell, celebrating a hard-fought and well-deserved victory.
St. Augustine’s College put up a brave fight to finish second with 42 points, and Opoku Ware School concluded the contest with 29 points.
