Ato Forson presents findings of August Helicopter crash to President Mahama

The Acting Minister for Defence, Dr. Casiel Ato Forson, has presented the findings of the August 6 helicopter crash investigation to President John Mahama.
The presentation took place during a National Security Council meeting.
The full report is scheduled for public release on Tuesday, November 11.
President Mahama had announced the formation of a high-level Investigative Board of Inquiry on August 8 to determine the cause of the military helicopter crash in Adansi Akrofuom, Ashanti Region, which claimed the lives of two cabinet ministers and six others.
In a solemn address to the nation, the President emphasized transparency in the investigation. “As we mourn, questions about the cause of this tragedy are natural and important,” he said.
“I want to assure the families and the nation that the Ghana Armed Forces has initiated a full and transparent investigation into the circumstances of this crash.”
Flight data and cockpit voice recorders have been recovered to assist the inquiry, and the deceased were given state burials.
