She gave me a lifeline to live again

Veteran Nollywood actress Shan George has publicly showered praises on her colleague and longtime friend, Uche Jombo, for helping her rebuild her acting career after years away from the industry.
In a touching post shared on social media sighted by MyNewsGh, Shan George recounted how she left Nollywood for several years to take care of her ailing mother and how her return after her mother’s passing was filled with challenges and disappointment.
“This beautiful superstar Uche Jombo is one of the bestest human beings ever, I say make I tell una, in case you didn’t know already,” Shan wrote. “After I left Nollywood to care for my sick aged mother, I was away for many years. After my mom passed and after her funeral, I came back trying to find my feet again.”
The actress revealed that despite approaching several producers with humility and hope, many of them ignored her after promising to help.
“I went to some producers to pay homage, I bought wine, even knelt to beg some, and let them know I’ve buried my mother and now trying to come back to work. Many pretended to care and promised to help me get back on my feet, but didn’t even take my calls again,” she recalled.
However, Shan George said Uche Jombo stood out, not only for her compassion but for taking active steps to help her re-enter the industry.
“But you see this beauty Uche? I didn’t even call her, but she took it upon herself to look for me when she heard I’m back trying to work again,” Shan shared. “She made ways for me to work with productions and legends that can easily raise me up again.”
Expressing deep gratitude, Shan described Uche Jombo as an “angel” and prayed for blessings upon her life.
“So this post is me thanking her for being an Angel as always. God bless you immensely sis, and may your children and generations never lack or seek for help before help comes to them,” she wrote.
Concluding her emotional message, Shan George reflected on the importance of kindness within the film industry, saying, “Sometimes it’s not about giving someone cash, but giving them a lifeline to live again.”
