Frequency and timing of lovemaking important for couples struggling to conceive

A medical doctor, Dr. Isaac Tetteh, has advised couples who have difficulties having children to consider how often and at what time they engage in sexual intercourse, explaining that frequency and timing are important in getting a woman to conceive.
Dr Tetteh, whose area of specialisation is the reproductive health of girls and women as well as pregnancy and childbirth, explained that even though it is true that infertility or the inability to have children could be caused by medical conditions, the frequency and timing of sexual intercourse is a major factor that is often overlooked.
Speaking on GTV’s Breakfast Show recently, the respected doctor admonished couples struggling for the fruit of the womb to prioritise regular and timely sex that is in tandem with the woman’s ovulation cycle.
This, he noted, will help couples identify their fertile periods, which increases the chances of pregnancy.
Infertility remains a major health challenge in Ghana, especially among married couples who usually suffer stigma for failing to have children.
Many Ghanaians see infertility as some form of spiritual attack, but Dr Tetteh has advised couples to seek early medical and psychological help so as to better their chances of having children.
