Rawlings remembered five years after his death

Today, November 12, 2025 marks the fifth anniversary of the death of former President Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings.
To mark the day, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Military Cemetery, Burma Camp.
The ceremony, officiated by Lt. Col (Rev. Father) Benjamin Kwesi Effah, brought together members of the late leader’s family, including his children, the Head of the Agbotui Family, Colonel Joshua Agbotui, and other close relatives.
The children of the late President laid a wreath on behalf of the family in remembrance of their father’s enduring legacy.
Plans for a larger commemoration of the fifth anniversary have been postponed following the recent death of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, wife of the late President, on October 23, 2025.
President Jerry John Rawlings, Ghana’s longest-serving leader and founder of the Fourth Republic, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
