US-based Nigerian soldier offers daughter’s hand to Lt. Yerima after viral standoff with Wike

A US-based Nigerian soldier has warmed hearts online after he publicly offered his daughter’s hand in marriage to Lt. A.M. Yerima, the young Nigerian officer who stood his ground against the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, in a now-viral video.

In the trending video, Lt. Yerima is seen maintaining a calm but firm composure as he prevents Minister Wike from accessing a disputed plot of land in Abuja, citing orders from his superiors.

Despite the minister’s visible frustration, the young officer’s discipline and restraint have earned him nationwide admiration.

The American-based soldier, impressed by Yerima’s courage and composure, took to social media to commend him in the most unexpected way.

“Don’t worry, you will marry my daughter. She is almost a full lieutenant too. She is an elite soldier.

“I like your steeze in the face of unprecedented provocation. Very, very professional,” he wrote.
