Francis Abu undergoes successful surgery

Ghana’s Francis Abu, who got injured during Ghana’s game against Japan, has successfully undergone surgery at the Toyota Hospital in Japan.

A statement from the Ghana Football Association said he suffered a fracture of two bones.

However, the Ghana Football Association, through the efforts of Dr Prince Pambo, Black Stars head of medical; his colleagues from Toulouse FC, and the surgical team in Japan, Francis Abu has successfully undergone surgery.

He is said to have started the acute phase of his rehabilitation.

The FA in its statement indicated that “The Ghana Football Association, the management team of the Black Stars, and the technical team have agreed to let one physiotherapist stay with the player to help him with his intensive physiotherapy sessions during this acute phase of his rehabilitation”.

Francis will be accompanied by a senior member of the technical team to his home base in France after he is discharged from Toyota Memorial Hospital, where the surgery took place.
