Fatawu Issahaku’s decision to attend tidal rave and opt out of Black Stars duties divides social media

Fatawu Issahaku is one of the players who opted out of the Black Stars squad, which is representing Ghana in the Kirin Cup.
The FA is yet to provide reasons why the player and other colleagues opted out of the Ghana team for the Kirin Cup.
However, Issahaku was spotted at a beach event in Accra, which has sparked conversations
Ghanaian sports journalist Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo is of the view that Fatau Issahaku’s failure to represent the national team and his appearance at the Tidal Rave do not look good.
His position has, however, been countered by Gideon Fiifi Nyamekye, who believes that he did no wrong in attending the Tidal Rave at the beach.
Fentuo, who expressed his view in a post shared via social media, said “This is not a good look and you don’t need Jesus to tell you why…”.
But Fiifi’s counter position read “Which article or law of the game says a footballer can’t attend a beach event? Bro rest wai because these things are not for you. Allow people to enjoy their hard-earned money.
A bench event and you were expecting people to wear Kaba or Fugu ![]()
After all the investments, we’ll die — LIFE is YOLO”.
With other opinions expressed on the matter, social media seems divided by the action taken by the footballer who opted to stay out of Black Stars team playing in the Kirin Cup.
