Ebony’s management at Ruff Town Records sabotaged my first Shay Concert—Wendy Shay

Artiste, Wendy Shay, has opened up for the first time about why her first Shay Concert flopped.

She says her first Shay concert was sabotaged by Ebony’s team, which managed her.

According to her, the organizing team misapplied the funds that were made available for the event.

Wendy Shay, who has moved on from the traumatic experience into a big star, disclosed that instead of the team acquiring top-of-the-range equipment for the show, they went in for what she describes as “funeral equipment” for the event.

“We gave money to OGee and others who were managing Ebony when I came in. These people spent the money and did not use it for the purpose for which the money was given to them. It was a heartbreaking moment for me, but I have not spoken about it before.

My friends were in town for my show, and when we got to the venue, there was no light, the sound was bad, and the team that was supposed to organize the event bolted when they saw us coming. I was heartbroken by what they did,” she stated on Accra-based Adom TV.

“Sarkodie came to support me, other artistes came to the beach to support me but they could not hop onto the stage because everything was poorly organized. It was a very worrying ,moment for me and my friends had to give me the support I needed at that moment,” he recalled on Adom TV.

She mentioned that as a result of the flop, she lost deals with a makeup brand and have since lost favour with Kasapreko; a company that overlooked the fact that she was a young artiste and invested heavily in her first ever event.

Wendy Shay said after the disgrace, her team, instead of apologizing for the failure, rather called her names.
