Kegel exercises can give men stronger erections without drugs

Speaking on Dr. Louisa Satekla’s new podcast monitored by MyNewsGh, Ghanaian urologist Dr. Bernard Toboh highlighted the role of Kegel exercises in improving male sexual performance and reducing long-term dependence on erectile medications.
He explained that many men seeking help for weak erections often express concern about medication use, noting, “They always ask, ‘Doc, am I going to be on these drugs and for how long?’”
In response, he emphasized that Kegel exercises, when combined with healthier lifestyle habits, offer a non-drug alternative that strengthens the pelvic floor and enhances natural erectile function.
Dr. Toboh detailed the muscular actions involved, describing Kegels as the same movements used to stop urine midstream, prevent gas from escaping the anus and subtly contract the penis inward.
He stated that these actions, when consistently practised, improve blood flow and muscular control necessary for firmer erections.
According to him, the routine requires regular repetition over several seconds each time, with improvements becoming more evident over time.
He encouraged men not to be intimidated by the technique, stressing that visual demonstrations are readily available online and can make learning the exercise easier.
He concluded by reaffirming that Kegel exercises remain a reliable intervention backed by clinical experience.
He described them as “very, very helpful for men who would want to achieve very strong erections and move away from medications,” positioning them as one of the most practical self-care methods available to men seeking better sexual performance without pharmaceutical dependence.
