DVLA Opens Applications for 2026 Trade License (DV Plates)

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced the opening of applications for the 2026 Trade Licence, popularly known as DV plates.
The notice, released on November 19, 2025, invites motor vehicle manufacturers, owners of vehicle repair garages, and motor vehicle traders to submit their applications in accordance with Section 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 2004 (Act 683) and Regulation 23 of the Road Traffic Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2180).
According to the DVLA, all applicants are required to provide supporting documents, including a valid Ghana Card, a valid business registration certificate, and a completed Company Registration Form A.
Applicants must also show evidence of renewal for expired business registration certificates, a valid SSNIT clearance certificate, and a GRA tax clearance certificate.
The Authority indicated that submissions may be made in person or via email through the designated officers: [email protected] or [email protected]. The deadline for the submission of all applications is December 12, 2025.
The DVLA expressed appreciation to stakeholders and urged all eligible applicants to comply with the requirements within the stipulated timeframe.
