Environment reporter Erastus Asare with the Multimedia Group has announced that the NAIMOS team has been involved in an accident.
According to him, the accident has taken the life of one, while three others are in critical condition.
He mentioned that the gory accident occurred at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.
The NAIMOS Taskforce carried out a major anti-galamsey operation at several illegal mining sites in Obuasi, leading to the seizure of equipment and the arrest of one suspected ringleader on Moday.
The Taskforce reported that the targeted areas included strategic locations around the Obuasi Airport, where illegal mining activities had recently been highlighted in public reports.
