Police have launched a targeted enforcement exercise in the Tamale South Constituency as part of an intensified crackdown on criminal activity in the Northern Region.
The Inspector General of Police’s special operations team carried out a swoop at Nyohini, resulting in the arrest of more than 15 individuals alleged to be traders and drug peddlers On Wednesday, 19 November 2025,
According to the leader of the operations team, ASP Alhaji Bawah Abdul-Jalil, intelligence gathered by the service shows a growing trend of criminal networks operating across the region, posing significant threats to public safety.
He said the operation forms part of broader efforts to disrupt these activities and restore order.
He added that the exercise will continue without interruption until security is fully reinforced and the concerns of residents are addressed.
