Police confirm arrest of Journalist Samuel Amadotor for publishing false news

Police have officially confirmed the arrest of Samuel Amadotor, claiming he allegedly circulated false information about Mr Okatakyie Boakye Danquah Ababio I.
The arrest was carried out with support from the National Signals Bureau following a formal complaint.
In the police statement signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the service said Amadotor admitted to the offence during interrogation.
According to the statement, the suspect claimed he was “contracted by Chairman Michael Yeboah” to publish the false content.
“We are currently seeking Chairman Michael Yeboah to assist with the ongoing investigation,” the statement added.
The police further confirmed that Amadotor is in custody and is expected to be arraigned on Friday, 21st November 2025.
Chief Inspector Babanawo said the CID will “continue to take firm action against individuals who maliciously misuse digital platforms to spread false information.”
