A couple whose names have not been given have been arrested by the police in Kokrobite for beating their 13-year-old child to death.
The situation has sent shocking waves down the spines of the residents in the area.
Narrating what transpired to United Television, some residents who are privy to the situation said the man had gone out to work.
When he returned, his wife, who is not the mother of the child, complained bitterly to her husband, describing his daughter as a thief.
According to her, she had eaten the leftover food that her brother had eaten.
The father, angered by the action of his daughter, whose name is given as Baby, beat her until she gave up the ghost.
The residents say her lifeless body was left under a mango until morning, when her parents picked her up and sent the lifeless body into their house.
Residents who saw the act informed the police, and they arrested the wife, who was at home, and later the husband was nabbed.
The two are currently in custody and are assisting the police with the investigation.
