Dada Hafco says Ghana’s industry is tough but rewarding

Dada Hafco has shared insights into his songwriting approach and the realities of navigating Ghana’s music industry. He described the industry as demanding but said the challenges have shaped him positively.
“The music business in Ghana is tough, but the difficulty makes it beautiful,” he said on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGh.
He explained that the industry has broadened his network and exposed him to diverse audiences. “The shows I’ve played, the places I’ve been, and the people I’ve met, I see all that as blessings,” he said.
Hafco credited former manager Rutai for sharpening his lyrical depth. “Root I taught me that your music must speak every day. You must take the listener on a journey,” he noted.
He emphasised that his songs are inspired by real-life situations rather than personal stories.
“I put myself in people’s lives. That’s why the music becomes relatable,” he explained.
Discussing his collaboration with Fameye on Our Story, Hafco revealed that the idea came from a dream.
“I dreamt we were performing together in a fitting shop with schoolchildren watching,” herecounted.
He contacted Fameye immediately, and the collaboration happened the same day.
“It was destined,” Hafco added.
