Archbishop to lead protests to kidnapper’s den if kidnapped Catholic Priest isn’t released

The Archbishop of Bamenda, Andrew Nkea, has threatened to lead members of his archdiocese to protest at the location of kidnappers holding one of their priests for a ransom.
Rev. Fr. John Berinyuy Tatah, was kidnapped by some persons believed to be separatists residing in Baba I in the Ndop Subdivision.
After attempts to get Rev Fr. Tatah released, the Archdiocese has laid out a three-point action plan to force his release, including marching to the exact location of the alleged kidnappers.
The Archdiocese outlined a gradual approach, including prayer until ending in the members of the Archdiocese storming the kidnapper’s den to force his release.
“If by Friday 28th November 2025, Rev Fr John is still in captivity, the Archbishop, all priests, religious and members of Christ’s lay faithful of the archdiocese will go down to Baba I and March down to the place where is and either bring him back or remain there until he is released,” the communiqué signed by Archbishop Andrew Nkea on November 23, 2025, read.
The abduction of Priests is a frequent practice in the English-speaking part of Cameroon as secessionists make a demand for their own country.
