Prof. Kwabena Dei Ofori-Attah Slams Mahama’s “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” Project as Ineffective

Professor Kwabena Dei Ofori-Attah has criticized the John Mahama administration’s “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” initiative, describing it as a “scam” that will not advance Ghana’s development.
He made the remarks during an interview with Vim Lady on Okay FM 101.7.
Prof. Ofori-Attah commended former President Acheampong’s “Operation Feed Yourselves” program, noting that it ensured food abundance at the time. In contrast, he argued that the current poultry-focused initiative is redundant.
“This is not a priority. People already have chicks, so this is a waste of time,” he said.
He further expressed concern that President Mahama is hesitant to implement substantial reforms due to fear of public critique regarding his competence and consistency.
The academic suggested that Ghana could learn from China’s Cultural Revolution and its focus on technology development, emphasizing the need for a strategic blueprint to guide national projects.
“The Nkoko Nkitinkiti project and the 24-hour economy initiative will not take Ghana anywhere,” Prof. Ofori-Attah warned. “The government is taking the people of Ghana nowhere if the right policies are not implemented.”
