Sammi Awuku unveils long-awaited Akropong Project, promises another before 2028

A newly completed project at the Akropong Presbyterian College of Education has been described as “a dream realised” by Hon Sammi Awuku, Member of Parliament(MP) for Akuapim North who says the facility marks a significant milestone for the Akuapem North Constituency and its future generations.
In a Facebook post on 25 November 2025, Mr Awuku expressed profound gratitude to Okuapehene Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, Nananom, the Presbyterian Church, the College’s leadership, the National Lottery Authority (NLA), the KGL Foundation, and Wembley Construction, acknowledging their roles in bringing the project to completion.
He reminded the public that the Presbyterian Church’s colours, red, white and blue, reflect the Church’s identity, values, and the aspirations of its youth, stressing that these colours should not be interpreted through a political lens.
Responding to criticism that the sports pitch project diverted attention from other constituency obligations, Mr. Awuku said development manifests in multiple forms and that the initiative complements, rather than replaces, ongoing commitments. He noted that the pitch represents an additional pathway to community progress, not a neglect of other responsibilities.
Mr. Awuku called on residents and students to maintain the new facility with a sense of pride and stewardship, adding that, “with the intervention of God”, another project will follow before 2028.”
