Mahama’s experience shapes my work

Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu says President John Dramani Mahama plays an active role in shaping the administration’s communication approach, offering guidance rooted in his long experience in public governance.

Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said the President remains directly involved in assessing how government messaging is perceived.

“Absolutely, and he’s very engaged, and he takes an interest in what we see, what the perceptions about government are. So every now and then, he touches base to find out exactly what is happening. So it helps,” he said.

He described the President’s background in communication as a practical advantage in his work.

“He himself has tons of experience in managing government communication, so I benefit a lot from his input, his insight, and the depth of understanding that he has in this area. So it is quite a blessing, fortuitous for me that I have a boss like that,” he added.

Reflecting on their relationship, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said President Mahama has provided mentorship from his early political years.

“I think that in my younger years, he took an interest in me and tried to mould the way that I engaged. He always stressed the need to be civil,” he said.

He noted that the President’s emphasis on civility continues to influence his approach to public communication and engagement.
