Reports indicate that Democracy Hub’s Head of mobilization, Wendell Yeboah, has been arrested.
He is said to have been arrested because of an allegation he made on Accra-based Aluta FM in the past week.
The arrest comes days after he openly apologized to the Ashanti Regional Minister, the Eastern Regional Minister and the Western Regional Minister over allegations of their involvement in illegal mining.
Team lead for Democracy Hub, Oliver Barker Vormawor who disclosed the arrest said he is being detained by the police on the orders of the government because he falsely accused government officials of being involved in galamsey.
His social media post announcing the arrest read “Wendell Yeboah, Head of Mobilization of Democracy Hub has been arrested by the Police HQ. Police say he is being detained on the orders of Govt, for accusing Govt appointees of Galamsey”.
