MzBel laments neglect by NDC after years of loyalty and campaign support

Ghanaian musician MzBel born Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah has expressed deep disappointment over what she describes as neglect by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) despite her unwavering support and involvement in the party’s campaigns.
Speaking emotionally, she revealed that after putting in significant effort to help the NDC return to power, she has received no form of assistance or acknowledgement. According to her, she personally visited party offices to lobby for opportunities to support her restaurant business, particularly hoping to secure catering contracts for party events, but these attempts have yielded nothing.
“The party has not come to tell me anything,” she lamented. “I have gone to their office myself to lobby for some work so I can support my restaurant business, but to no avail. I only wanted the chance to supply food for their occasions, yet I have not gotten any contract.”
MzBel added that although she knows many of the party’s top leaders and has their personal contacts, communication has drastically changed since the campaign season ended. “During the campaign, they were communicating with me nicely. Now, no one even wants to hear me out. Even when I send a message, they reply anyhow, sometimes even rudely.”
She emphasized to her followers that she has not received a single cedi from all the campaigning she did for the NDC.
“I haven’t gotten a dime from all my efforts,” she stressed.
MzBel also noted that the team members who followed her on campaign trails are now demanding jobs, putting her under pressure; she believes the party should help ease.
Her concerns add to the ongoing public conversation about entertainers and political endorsements, and the expectations that often follow once campaign seasons end.
