Amaliba vows to unseat Mahama Ayariga

A member of the NDC Communication Team, Haruna Amaliba, has announced his intention to contest the Bawku Central parliamentary seat, currently held by Mahama Ayariga.
Amaliba made the declaration during a media engagement on Happy 98.9FM, stating that he is fully prepared to face the incumbent MP in the party’s upcoming primaries.
Amaliba issued a strong challenge to Ayariga, urging him to brace himself for a competitive contest.
“Ayariga should prepare and wait for me. I will meet him in Bawku Central,” he said. He added that he believes he has legitimate historical and familial ties to the constituency.
“My grandfather is the founder of the modern Kusasi State. I have the bona fide right to serve as Member of Parliament for Bawku Central,” Amaliba asserted.
He further emphasized his commitment to the race, insisting that no level of persuasion or political intervention would deter him from contesting.
“I don’t need a call from anybody. I am contesting him, and he will meet me there,” he stated.
Amaliba also hinted that, should he lose the party’s internal election, he may still consider an independent bid. “If I lose, I will go independent,” he declared.
He insisted that Bawku Central deserves new leadership and reiterated that he is ready to offer that alternative.
