Rapper Guru born Maradona Yeboah Adjei has confirmed that he is now fully prepared to enter politics on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He disclosed that although he refrains from commenting on the traits needed in the next leader of the party, he is politically grounded and ready when the time is right.
“I am ready for politics now,” he said on Kumasi-based Angel Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com, explaining that his reluctance to discuss who should lead the NPP is simply because he appeared on the show as a musician, not a political figure. “If we were on a university campus, then maybe I could talk about those things.”
Guru accidentally mentioned Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s name during the conversation, prompting speculation about where his support lies. He quickly redirected the conversation, saying his present focus is on music, although he hinted that the qualities needed in a leader are “what we see out there.”
