Akufo-Addo worked with “traitors and vampires”

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has launched a blistering commentary on what he describes as internal sabotage within the Akufo-Addo administration, accusing three former appointees, Martin Amidu, Kissi Agyebeng, and former IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, of betraying the former president.

Ampaw praised Akufo-Addo for showing what he called “unmatched self-restraint” despite being surrounded by individuals he said worked against his own government.

“Former President Akufo-Addo is a very good person,” Ampaw said. “A president who appointed his own demons, people who worked against him. He never sacked Martin Amidu, he never sacked Kissi Agyebeng, and he never sacked Dampare even when they made his government unpopular.”

Ampaw accused Dampare of taking actions during the elections that he claims allowed the NDC to “overtake the security,” while faulting Agyebeng and Amidu for allegedly weakening the NPP’s political messaging.

He framed Akufo-Addo as a leader who tolerated “absolute betrayal” in order to maintain institutional independence.
