30 is not a deadline

Entrepreneur and philanthropist Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan, has shared a message to young Ghanaians, urging them to stop treating the age of 30 as a life deadline.
“I’m very worried about a trend that is becoming very normal these days. I’m seeing too many people treat the age of 30 like a deadline,” he said, addressing people under 30.
McKorley emphasized that the 20s should be viewed as a period for experimentation and skill-building rather than superficial displays of success.
“In your 20s, focus less on looking successful and more on building the foundations of success. This is the time to learn, experiment, fail fast, and pick up skills that will pay off later,” he advised.
He warned against trying to impress others at the expense of personal growth.
“Don’t waste your 20s trying to impress people who won’t matter in 5-20 years. Use the time to invest in yourself, your health, your knowledge, and your network,” McKorley added.
The business mogul urged young people to plan intentionally for the future, noting that success is a product of preparation, discipline, and focused effort.
“30 is not a deadline. Life won’t just happen and turn into the future that you want. You have to plan, structure, build, and grow it,” he said.
