Top soldier arrested for selling M16, other sophisticated guns to criminal gangs

The cover of Warrant Officer II(WO II) of the 4BN of the Ghana Armed Forces, W.O. II, David Kofi Brew, who has gained notoriety in selling sophisticated guns to criminal gangs in the Ashanti Region has been blown leading to his arrest.
At the time of his arrest, MyNewsGh.com gathered that the serving military officer stationed at Kumasi was in possession of an M16 he was offering at GHC80,000 having earlier promised he was capable of supplying G3, pistols and other weapons depending on the demands of his clients.
According to sources at the Ashanti Regional Police Command, WO II Â David Kofi Brew, who is reported engaging in the act for some time now, was lured by plain-clothed investigators who feigned interest in buying the weapons since it was his modus operandi.
 The suspect called the agent to say that the gun and another pistol were ready for pickup and agreed to meet his client at the Bekwai Shell filling Station, and in the process of handing over the weapons, he was arrested together with the weapons.
Upon his arrest, the suspect admitted during interrogation that he sells the weapons to people in and around Obuasi. His superiors MyNewsGh.com confirmed, have since been informed of his arrest, according to deep-throat police sources, while investigators have launched a hunt for his accomplices, believed to be criminals tormenting residents in and out of the Ashanti Region.
