Why I dropped ‘Batman’ – Samini explains

Samini has revealed that his decision to drop the stage name “Batman” was driven by the need for originality, family legacy, and long-term brand identity.
The award-winning artiste said the name Batman emerged during his early years, inspired by childhood fascination and a coined phrase meaning “Best of All Times.”
“We were kids. Everybody had names,” he said. “But if you want to stand out and be your own boss, you have to be original.”
He explained that reverting to his real name was both strategic and personal. “Use your own name, bring some grace on the family, and make it generational,” Samini stated.
The musician shared that his father initially struggled to understand his career path but became supportive after seeing his first music video on television.
“The day my first video popped up on TV, he said, ‘So that’s your voice,’” Samini recalled. “From that day, he supported me.”
Samini also disclosed that his name has spiritual significance. “Sin is rain, Mini is god.
“That’s my name,” he said, noting that the transition from Batman to Samini felt natural because many people had already been calling him Sam from childhood.
