Why Ken Agyapong’s team has disowned Alex Tetteh

The campaign team of Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has formally dissociated itself from comments made by a man identified as Alex Tetteh, following the circulation of a viral video in which he made derogatory remarks about members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a statement issued on December 18, the Ken Agyapong Campaign stressed that Alex Tetteh does not speak for the candidate or the campaign in any capacity.
“The Campaign wishes to state unequivocally that Mr. Tetteh is not an official member, representative, or spokesperson of the Campaign,” the statement said, adding that any comments attributed to him are “strictly personal and do not reflect the values, principles, or position of our Candidate.”
While acknowledging the passion of its support base, the campaign was clear it would not tolerate conduct that undermines party unity or public decency.
“While we acknowledge the enthusiasm of supporters, the Campaign does not condone insults, threats, or any conduct that undermines decency and respectful public discourse,” it stated.
Supporters were further urged to align their conduct with party rules, national laws, and ethical standards, which the campaign said are consistent with the core principles of the candidate.
The statement was signed by Kwasi Kwarteng, Esq., Campaign Spokesperson to Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, and issued for immediate release.
