Pentecost elder on the run after wife’s killing in Amansie Central

A man identified as Kwame Sarpong, an elder of the Church of Pentecost at Gyametanhunu in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region, is on the run following the alleged killing of his wife, Abena Oforiwaah.
A report by Angel TV indicated that the incident followed a domestic dispute in which the woman accused her husband of infidelity. The confrontation reportedly escalated, ending in her death inside their home.
The situation came to light after a farmer detected a strong odour from the house and alerted residents. Upon entering the room, the woman was found dead, prompting a report to the authorities.
Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi, reporter Chuku Joseph said the suspect allegedly locked the room after the incident and fled the community. Police have since launched a search to locate and arrest him.
“The 55-year-old elder allegedly killed his wife after an argument over cheating. The woman accused him of infidelity and the elder is said to have killed her in their room and locked it.
“A farmer later perceived a strong stench and upon rushing to the place, discovered that the woman was dead with blood oozing from her body,” he said.
“A farmer came to inform us that we should check a particular place because it was smelling badly. When we got there, we realized the woman was dead inside the room,” an eyewitness said.
