A chameleon in disguise – Blakk Rasta blasts Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo

Ghanaian reggae artist and media personality Blakk Rasta, has launched a scathing attack on Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, questioning her integrity and suitability for the role.

Speaking on his show on 3FM, the outspoken commentator did not hold back in his criticism, particularly in light of a petition seeking her removal from office.

Blakk Rasta expressed deep disappointment in the Chief Justice, alleging that she has shown partisanship and failed to uphold the values expected of her office.

“Why on earth is Gertrude Torkornoo sitting there for? This is a woman who has shown no respect for patriotism for this country. She is overly partisan. I love women in high positions but not corrupt, thieving women.

Not dishonest women who hide several millions of hard currencies under their beds… Gertrude Torkornoo should have long been relegated to the hole that Nana Addo finds himself right now,” he stated.

He recalled his initial excitement when she was appointed, emphasizing his strong support for women rising to high positions in a society that often overlooks them.

“When she was appointed, I was one of those who applauded her. I love to see women rise in a country that has the least respect for women. My heart skips several beats in jubilation.”

However, Blakk Rasta lamented what he sees as a shift in her conduct, accusing her of abandoning the expectations placed on her.

He criticized her public display of faith at the beginning of her tenure, suggesting that her actions have since contradicted the image she initially portrayed.

The first thing she did was run to the church and thank God for where she found herself. She was seen as a no-nonsense woman whose heart beat for Ghana, but in no time, her true chameleon colours started showing in various ways.”
